Take Three Giant Steps! Is an educational and motivational work written for younger citizens. The themes on which the storyline is based are distilled from the Vision 2030 Jamaica – National Development Plan. This is the country’s first long-term development plan, which was derived through a wide-ranging process of consensus and participation, coordinated by the Planning Institute of Jamaica. The book follows a simple and believable storyline that introduces the young reader to the major themes of the development plan, and how they are to be understood by them. It speaks to the wealth of potential within each child, and the part they should play in sharing the Vision and making it a personal reality. Through the experiences of Manny, an eleven-year old boy living in rural Jamaica, the reader is exposed to several key issues, which give rise to the awakening of interest and purpose in his pursuit of life.
